The Royal Norwegian Embassy organized a reception for the Norwegian National Day and was held at the Renaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The evening reception at the grand ballroom was filled with approximately 350 guests comprising of honorary guests, members from the Malaysia Norway Business council, business associates and spouse.
All guests entering the ballroom were greeted by Madam Nina and her team dressed in bunad - a traditional Norwegian costume. The evening was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Education, YN Dr. Wee Ka Siong and The Ambassador H.E. Arild Braastad with an openinf speech respectively. The ceremony was accompanied by a string quartered playing the national anthem of Norway and Malaysia.
As soon as the speeches were delivered with a toast, all guests were invited to indulge themselves with the sumptuous food prepared by the hotel ranging from fresh salmon, sausages, cured meats and a spread of desserts and cakes. The feast was complemented with a variety of drinks.
I conclusion, the guests enjoyed themselves interacting with each other, networking, eating and drinking.
