The 9th Annual Scandinavian Business Christmas Dinner was jointly organized by The Malaysia Norway Business Council (MNBC), The Malaysian Swedish Business Association (MASBA), Malaysian Danish Business Council (MDBC) and the Malaysian Finnish Business Council (MFBC). It was held at the Grand Ballroom of KL Hilton with about 460 guests comprising of members and business associates.
All guests were welcomed at the foyer with a pre-cocktail session where the traditional Scandinavian Christmas drink – “Glogg” was served with almonds and raisins. Wine, beer and soft drinks were also served throughout the evening. It was an idle time and place meet and greet friends and business associates from various industries. The objective of this dinner is to foster closer business ties between the Scandinavian companies in Malaysia with the Malaysian counterparts. It was also an opportunity to meet new people from various industries and establish a deeper business understanding.
Mr. Hans Bjornered was once again elected as the toastmaster for the evening. As soon as Hans welcomed the guests, the children from The Saint Lucia performance team entered the ballroom. The lights were dimmed and the glow from the candles held by the children created a cozy Christmas ambiance. This was followed by the International Choir performance – The Cantus Musicus. The guests were entertained with Christmas songs sung in the various Scandinavian styles.
The Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Helena Sangeland officiated the evening with her opening speech. After that, the crowd was invited to relish in the wide array of food served on a buffet style ranging from fresh salads with a variety of cheese to mouth-watering meatballs, and irresistible desserts. The guests continued to seize this moment to network and enjoyed the dinner with unlimited Aquavit.
While all guest were mingling, the SWV band started their preliminary performance. Subsequently, the lucky draw session thrilled the guest with the grand prize of a 4 days 3 nights cruise for 2 person sponsored by Star Cruises.
